General Family Dentistry
Your family deserves the best dental care you can find. Our dentist and staff understand your needs and we always listen carefully to any concerns our patients have. We provide all general services ranging from exams and cleanings to cosmetic dentistry.
Preventative Dentistry
Maintain good oral health through regular hygiene appointments. These include oral cancer screening, X-rays, fluoride treatments and night guards for people who grind their teeth. Prevention of gum disease is an vital part of the hygiene exam.
Cosmetic Dentistry
There have been tremendous advances made in cosmetic dentistry. We first perform a comprehensive examination to determine the basis of your oral health. Unsightly dark fillings can be replaced with tooth colored restoration. Chipped, crooked teeth made to look straight. Improvements to your smile can sometimes be attained in just a few visits.
Reconstructive Dentistry
This may also be referred to as rehabilitation dentistry. When a person has missing teeth, chewing problems, jaw muscle problems; a step-by-step treatment plan will be proposed . Dental implants, bridgework or removable partials may all be discussed as options. Whatever treatment considered; each patient’s needs are thoroughly discussed so the final result is best for the patient.
Porcelain Veneers
Dental veneers (sometimes called porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates) are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length.
Dental Crowns
A dental crown is a tooth-shaped “cap” that is placed over a tooth – covering the tooth to restore its shape and size, strength, and/or to improve its appearance. The crowns, when cemented into place, fully encase the entire visible portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line.
Endondontics (Root Canals)
Endodontic treatment is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the root canal, becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can have a variety of causes: deep decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth, or a crack or chip in the tooth. In addition, an injury to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess.
Periodontics (Gum Treatments)
Untreated gingivitis can advance to periodontitis. With time, plaque can spread and grow below the gum line. Toxins produced by the bacteria in plaque irritate the gums. The toxins stimulate a chronic inflammatory response in which the body in essence turns on itself, and the tissues and bone that support the teeth are broken down and destroyed.
Oral Surgery (Extractions)
Many procedures done in a general dental office are considered oral surgery and patients that require such procedures are booked for the procedure without the inconvenience of being put on a waiting list for treatment.
TMJ
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the hinge joint that connects the lower jaw (mandible) to the temporal bone of the skull, which is immediately in front of the ear on each side of your head. Several conditions can cause similar symptoms to TMD – including a toothache, sinus problems, arthritis, or gum disease – Dr. Toaldo will conduct a careful patient history and clinical examination to determine the cause of your symptoms.
